After close to 20 years of involvement in the hunter/jumper field, she purchased a farm in 1998 with a goal of breeding high quality Warmbloods, and having a training and boarding facility that promotes horse wellness, rider safety, and competition for all levels, from in-house schooling shows to the "A" shows. She strives to keep the atmosphere at the farm family friendly, welcoming to all and enjoyable.
Sues training and teaching methodologies have taken beginner riders to champions and a very successful small breeding program which has produced well bred, successful show horses. She works to instill confidence in her riders, stressing the basics while expanding the knowledge of her students in all areas of horsemanship. She teaches her students to think independently, maintain good communication and become goal-oriented.
Sue strongly believes in lots of turnout for the horses, providing them with high quality feed, making sure they are in consistent programs, and providing excellent veterinary care and shoeing. This makes for healthy, happy horses, which in turn provide us with focused and willing partners.
Sue is a USHJA certified trainer, member USEF, USHJA, IHJA, and IEA. She also has taken classes in dressage and sports psychology.
